Abstract

The control of environmental health risks is undergoing significant changes with regard to the way these risks are understood and managed by the public health services. Traditionally, the Health Administration has taken on responsibility for guaranteeing the hygienic-sanitary conditions of installations, establishing control and monitoring systems. Nowadays it is the people in charge of the installations who assess their risks and implement control and monitoring systems, while the Health Administration confines itself to approving and supervising such systems.
